Waiting to hear if they have an interview or not

Please appreciate that jobseekers may be applying for dozens of jobs and don’t have the time or energy to spend hours on each application (with no guarantee of even hearing back from you).

  • Please try to respond to everyone, even if it’s a generated email.
  • Could you ask them on the application their preference of contacting them – email/phone?
  • Could you tell them when they’ll hear from you? They may get anxious of an unexpected call.
  • They may be anxiously waiting for days/weeks to hear and may never hear from you. They may email the company asking for updates & become more frustrated if they don’t hear.
  • If they do gain an interview – please bear in mind that they may have problems travelling to a venue/the time of the interview/anxiety. Are there any ways you could help with this?.
